Yesterday was brutal. Sometimes the mind is like a prison, or worse yet… solitary confinement. You don’t talk to anyone, you just go stir crazy in there. It doesn’t have to be that way, but sometimes it’s hard to leave; to talk about what’s going on inside.
After getting to the point where I didn’t know what to do, I found myself climbing the stone steps of a nearby mountain. I listening to most of Bon Iver’s two albums in the process, and stopped frequently to take photos on my iPhone. I enjoyed the times I got to in some way interact with the other climbers (simply stepping to the side to let them pass on their way down, or confirming to them which path will lead them back down the mountain). I like the small moments like these that one gets with strangers.
Bittersweet was that trip up the mountain.
